How to remind players to like and follow in UEFN
Many players enjoy an island and simply forget to like, save or follow it. A short, friendly reminder at the right moment helps. Here is what works in UEFN and what Epic does not allow.
What Verse can and cannot do
Fortnite gives Verse no events for real likes, saves or follows. A device cannot see whether a player liked your island, and it cannot press anything for them.
So a reminder can only do one thing well: show players where the buttons are, at a moment when they have time to look.
Pick a calm moment
A reminder in the middle of a fight gets closed and annoys players. Good moments are the ones where nothing is at stake:
- In the lobby or hub, before or after a round
- After a checkpoint, a win or a finished level
- When a player stands still for a few seconds
- Once per session, not every minute
Stay within Epic's rules
Epic's Island Creator Rules forbid tricks that push players to favorite or recommend an island. Keep it a reminder: no rewards for a like, no fake buttons, and never block the game until someone follows.
Read the current rules on Epic's creator portal before you publish; they change from time to time.
Three ways to show it
- On screen: a small popup that appears at a calm moment and stays clear of the Fortnite HUD.
- In the world: a 3D display that unfolds when players walk up and shows them what to press.
- Who made it: a 3D display with your name, picture and socials, so players know whom to follow.
Checklist
- The reminder shows where Like, Save and Follow are
- It appears at a calm moment, at most once per session
- It offers nothing in return for a like or follow
- It never covers the HUD or blocks the game
- It speaks the player's language
